What Guesting collects
Guesting collects the information people provide to create accounts, host events, open invitations, and RSVP. This can include names, email addresses, mobile numbers, event details, RSVP responses, chat messages, polls, photos, and profile images. We also collect limited technical and security information needed to operate the service and prevent abuse.
How information is used
We use this information to provide invitations and guest lists, verify guests, remember invitations, deliver requested messages, operate event features, protect accounts, prevent fraud, and improve Guesting.
Mobile numbers and SMS consent
When a guest enters a mobile number and actively agrees to texts, Guesting may send a one-time verification code and transactional updates about that event, such as reminders or important host changes. Message frequency varies by event and the guest’s requests. Message and data rates may apply.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties. Guesting does not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We may provide a mobile number to service providers, such as our messaging carrier, only as necessary to deliver Guesting messages, protect the service, or comply with law.
Service providers and disclosure
We use service providers for hosting, databases, messaging, security, and other infrastructure. They may process information only to provide those services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or Guesting, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide Guesting, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. Mobile numbers are encrypted in storage and matched using a keyed one-way lookup.
Your choices
You can decline to provide optional information. You can reply STOP to opt out of SMS or HELP for help. Hosts can update their account information, and people may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
