Who sends these messages

Guesting is an event invitation and RSVP service operated by Flightcase App, Inc. at guesting.app. Contact support@guesting.app.

How invitations are sent

Guesting does not send invitations. A host builds an invitation, and Guesting gives them a link for each guest; the host then sends that link themselves, from their own phone, through their own messaging app. No invitation is sent over Guesting’s messaging service and no number is texted by Guesting because a host imported it.

How guests opt in

Opting in happens after the invitation, never as a condition of it. A guest opens their link and answers the invitation by giving their name and choosing Going, Maybe, or Can’t. The RSVP form contains no mobile number field and no consent checkbox, and a guest can complete it without ever giving us a number.

Only once the response is saved does the invitation offer a separate, clearly optional card headed “Want texts about this event?”. That card holds a mobile number field and a single consent checkbox that starts unchecked. Neither field is required; a guest who ignores the card keeps their RSVP and is never messaged. A guest who fills both is sent a one-time verification code, and the opt-in is only recorded once they enter that code — so consent is confirmed on the handset itself.

This is the only way to opt in. Guesting does not use text-to-join keywords, paper forms, verbal consent, or purchased lists, and it never sends messages to a number that has not completed this card and its verification.

The consent record is kept with the guest's response: the date and time they agreed, and the exact wording they were shown.

What we send

Transactional messages only, about the specific event a guest RSVP’d to. No marketing, no promotional content, no messages about other events.

• A one-time verification code confirming the guest’s number, sent when they ask for texts about an event.
• A reminder about that event, if the host enables reminders.
• An update from the host about that event, such as a time or place change.

Message frequency

Frequency varies by event. A typical guest receives one verification code and between one and five messages about that event.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Guesting does not charge for messages.

Opting out and getting help

Reply STOP to any message to stop all messages. Reply START to opt back in. Reply HELP for help, or email support@guesting.app.

Privacy

No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties. See the privacy policy and terms of service.
